Through a positive and supportive research environment that is supported by policies and training, the University enables its researchers undertake research with trust, confidence, and accountability in their research methods and findings.
The University is committed to creating a culture of good research practice and maintaining the highest standards of rigour and integrity in all aspects of research. Providing a supportive environment for researchers, that is underpinned by good research governance, is one of the key priorities of the University's Research & Innovation Strategic plan. Leadership in the area is provided by the Pro Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation. Support for researchers is made available through training and guidance through Colleges and Professional Services units within the University.
The University’s Research Integrity: Policy Framework outlines the institutional approach to research integrity and provides the underpinning policies on research ethics & governance. The Policy Framework has been developed in accordance with the guidelines of the Concordat to Support Research Integrity, UK Research & Integrity Office Code of Practice and the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research.
