Huge congratulations to Rebecca Reardon BSc Business Management (Marketing) and Mazhar Hussain BSc Economics and Finance who both made it to the final Top 7 students out of over 340 for Enterprise Rent-a-car Intern of the year awards.
On Wednesday 10th May, they were invited to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Intern of the year final at the head office in London. Our in-house employability team were lucky enough to be invited along to celebrate the success with the two students and watch them pitch their final presentation.
The presentations consisted of the ways in which they have been involved with equality and diversity throughout their year in industry, the ways that they have been involved with social media, a business improvement idea and their highlight successes from their year in industry. At the final in London, there was a panel made up of Intern managers from Enterprise deciding on the winner. Unfortunately, our students did not win however both received a prize of £250 and an award from Enterprise for making the final.
“Achieving the final 7 out of 340 interns in the whole of UK and Ireland is something that I genuinely didn't think could be achievable for me but as time went on throughout my internship, I realised that my achievements to date were above and beyond average and that what I put in will result to what I gain from my year in industry. I am glad that I had a pivotal point during my year in industry, where I believed that putting in more than 100% will allow me to stand out and gain recognition within the organisation.” Mohammed Mazhar Hussain.
“It was incredible to see the inspiring things that the students had achieved on their year in industry placements. Congratulations to you both!” Kia Warlow, Employability and Placements Coordinator.
