About
I am Head of the Department of Criminology, Sociology and Social Policy, and lecture mainly on social justice, and children and the family. My current research interests lie mainly in two separate areas: children’s life chances, and co-production. I am author or editor of 11 books – most recently Ethics, Economy and Social Science: Dialogues with Andrew Sayer – as well as over 60 articles and chapters. I co-edit the journal Ethics and Social Welfare, having previously edited Res Publica – and have acted as a reviewer for over 40 different academic journals. I am Vice Chair of the Social Policy Association, a fellow of the RSA, and Chair of the Newport Fairness Commission.
