Jordan is a lecturer in Criminology in the department of Criminology, Sociology and Social Policy.

His doctoral research focuses on male sex workers experiences of violence and otherwise harmful behaviours, highlighting the impact of masculinities, stigma and policing practice on the perceived barriers to reporting.

Prior to beginning an academic career with Swansea University, Jordan worked on the research team at the National Vulnerability Knowledge and Practice Programme, a programme aimed at supporting and developing the policing response to vulnerability in England and Wales.

ASC212 Criminological Theory: Content and Application

This module provides students with an understanding of criminology as a theoretical, conceptual and applied discipline. Therefore, the module analyses criminological theories of crime and deviance, and explores the application of the theories in real life cases. The module builds on level 4 understandings of competing theories and perspectives to provide students with deeper a knowledge of Criminology from a theoretical and conceptual perspective. It is delivered through interactive sessions that give students the opportunity to evaluate the extent to which each of the theories applies in real life cases. Students are guided through the processes of applying each theory to topical and sometimes contentious crimes, acts of deviance, and punishments.
ASC316 Understanding the sex industry: Theory, policy and practice

The course offers students the opportunity to examine and explore the multiple issues that shape our understanding of sex and the laws and policies that govern sex work. Theoretical debates are entered into and sex work is considered on a European and global basis.
ASC325 Delivering Social Justice Interventions: Entrepreneurial Criminology

Interventions aimed at reducing offending in England and Wales are increasingly being delivered by non-governmental organisations (third sector). This module provides students with a critical knowledge and understanding of the role of the third sector within the Criminal Justice System of England and Wales. The module also enables students to understand and reflect on the skills necessary to design and manage a voluntary or non-profit organisation.
EMB1011 Criminology support tutorial

The aim of the support tutorial is to provide academic support and guidance to students on a year 1 Integrated programme with The College, Swansea University and the School of Law (Criminology)
