Lesley Davies is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants being both a project accountant and a lecturer in accountancy and finance at Swansea University.

Lesley has worked in the accountancy practice field before entering the world of education and lectures in the field of audit and assurance.

She has recently received the Swansea University Swansea Course Award for Technology Enhanced Learning and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Lesley constantly strives to meet the changing needs of students in higher education being innovative, supportive and creative in thinking.

Lesley lectures on the third-year audit undergraduate programme and on the postgraduate master programme covering the audit and assurance requirements for the ACCA examinations both at the applied and strategic level.

Taught Modules

MN-1021 Accounting for Economics

To introduce students to the fundamentals of financial and management accounting. Accounting is of critical importance in support of all business activities so this course is designed to introduce the basic concepts on which accounting is based, providing students with a toolkit that enables a better understanding of the performance of businesses and the decisions and problems they face.
MN-2548 Auditing 1

The overall aim of the module is to enable students to understand the social importance, nature and objectives of the audit function, the audit process, and the principles of audit practice.
MN-3502 Auditing 2

This module is intended to give students the understanding and techniques that can be applied to the analysis of matters relating to the provision of audit and assurance services and the development of analytical and discursive skills to enable discussion of audit procedures.
MN-M573 Advanced Audit and Assurance

The module provides students with an opportunity to develop and apply master¿s level knowledge, understanding and skills within an accountancy and finance related context. The module will require students to assimilate master¿s level knowledge and demonstrate critical appraisal of alternative solutions to financial decision making based on systematic analysis of complex business problems. Students will also be required to demonstrate independent research capability and presenting complex ideas through a range of different media appropriate to a finance professional.
