About

Sarah is the School Education Lead for the School of Management. She is an experienced teacher having taught in Higher Education for 20 + years.  She is equally well qualified as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), PGCE(HE/FE) and a Chartered Management Accountant.

She is committed to helping students achieve higher order learning outcomes, enhanced transferable and lifelong learning skills, enhanced employability, and strives to create the best academic community possible between both staff and students in the department.

She is passionate about Learning and Teaching developments, in particular the embedding of employability skills within the curriculum and in assessments.

Teaching Interests

Her principle teaching interest is Management Accounting (both at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels) but she has also taught Introductory Accounting, Auditing and Introductory Corporate Finance.

Sarah has extensive programme development experience having co-written the BSc and MSc Accounting and Finance degrees and has more recently undertaken a number of curriculum review exercises. Her programme management expertise has been developed across a variety of programmes including being Programme Director for the BSc Accounting and Finance programme and the Director of Studies for a Business Management degree at the University of Bath, where she worked for 3 years. She was Deputy Head of Department with responsibility for Learning and Teaching, Head of the Accounting and Finance Department and Director of Learning and Teaching prior to taking up her current role.
