What are your top 3 favourite things about Swansea?

  1. The People: Swansea University's student body is exceptionally friendly, helpful, and honest. Since it’s a smaller town with a close-knit community, you really do feel welcome here.
  2. The Beaches: I must say that the scenery and greenspaces here are unparalleled for photographers and nature enthusiasts like myself. (Hint: I would highly recommend visiting the beaches around sunset time; it's beautiful!)
  3. The Cost: Swansea really does cater to a student-friendly budget.

Why did you choose to study your degree at Swansea?
The Clinical Psychology and Mental Health course here at Swansea seemed to be a perfect fit for those interested in delving deeper into the world of Psychology. In addition to the opportunity to further my personal and professional development under the supervision of some of the best academics in the field, the decision to study here felt like a natural progression for graduate school.

What is your favourite thing about your course?
The many prospective postgraduate students there is often a fear that postgraduate life can be a really isolating experience. However, I was really fortunate to have had met some incredible, like-minded people from all walks of life. Having the opportunity to befriend and collaborate with them both academically and socially has been a huge learning experience in itself!

What are you planning/hoping to do after you graduate?
I am hoping to obtain some further work experience within the field of Psychology and (with hope) pursue Doctoral Training in the future.

Would you recommend Swansea University to other students?

I would recommend Swansea University for those looking to become more independent learners and critical thinkers!

Have you worked part-time during your degree?
Yes, definitely - The MSc programme is great as it does allow some flexibility in allowing you to engage in part-time work alongside your studies. I was able to work as a Student Ambassador in various roles throughout my time at Swansea University, including Postgraduate Admissions Administration, Undergraduate Clearing, Unibuddy, Postgraduate Calling Campaign, and Graduate Outcomes (to name a few!).
