8-11 year olds Competition 2022

As I stood under the chattering parrots, the slight shiver of a breeze passes by my face. Yet the sun still shines, with all its colour on to the ocean giving it the glistening glow of a silver pan, the sand as fine as water and as warm as phoenix under my feet. The wood of the palm tree scaley like a dragon, breathing its green flames upwards. The clouds like a white candy floss, the sky bluer than the ocean like a field for the sheep like clouds.

The wood's overgrown and old, a jungle sometimes. Mystery around every tree. A path to the hearts of the woods, and a clearing with a den. Mountain-like trees with cloud-like leaves. Swinging from tree to tree. Wall tigers chase me below. One wrong move and crash. We can run into the desert that's meeting the sea wall. Bigfoot swings from leaf to leaf

I see a portal and I go through hesitating what's going to happen? Seeing a little sweet gnome makes it a bit weird. The gnome runs away excitedly, and I follow. I see a fire-breathing chocolate dragon. the chocolatey dragon comes down, and a little gnome hands me a gigantic marshmallow and heats it up. Its very gooey but I still eat it. The peaceful, kind dragon lets me hop on his back. He flys gracefully away and I feel the cotton candy clouds, I say, 'this is just like my dream.' The dragon lands by a massive river that's hot tea and gigantic rich tea biscuits.

As I walked on the velvety grass, towards my secret entrance, the birds were chirping louder and louder as I got closer to the park at the back of my garden. It always looks different, every time I arrive. The birds were nesting in the Rowan trees as I opened the gate and walked through. There was a pirate cove to the left, a tavern to the right and straight ahead was an adventure. Every time the park was different, every time it was unexplored and left to my imagination. I love my park at the back of my garden

I woke up on a bright Sunday morning, leaning against a palm tree, rough against my back. I could not see anything except for some sand and water. I could not tell where I was, but I was stranded on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere, I could hear birds humming and the panting of an exhausted reptile so that I could not specify the species of the animals. I Could feel the thin warmth of the air touch my skin. I can't write much longer, if you are reading this send help quickly, please my friend, please....

Jacob dreamed of going outside by himself, but his fears of dragons overhead always stopped him. The wind roared like a fierce dragon. Jacob stepped outside, and was swept away by the dragon, up into the sky and put into the solitary wooden prison at the end of the garden. As the dragon approached the cold, wet cell, I could hear a second dragon screeching from the other end of the garden, I think my time was up.. But it wasn't.. It was just lunchtime. The dragon served me a hot dog. This dragon wasn’t that bad after all.
