Earwax, also known as cerumen is produced naturally inside your ears to keep them clean and free of germs. It usually passes out of the ears but sometimes too much can build up and block the ears. A build-up of earwax can cause earache, hearing loss, tinnitus and itchiness.
The Microsuction procedure
An effective method to remove earwax is microsuction. It is carried out by inserting a sterile thin probe into the ear which is attached to a medical suction device.
The procedure is performed under a microscope and illumination to gain a better view of the ear canal. Microsuction removes wax using a safe low pressure without introducing water into the ear, so the risk of infection is virtually nil.
The procedure takes between 15 and 30 minutes depending on whether one or both ears need to be treated. Whilst microsuction is being performed, you may hear a rushing noise and feel wax and debris being removed but it is painless.
Our fees are £40 for one ear or £60 for both ears.
"I have suffered from ear infections and a build of wax in the past and was assured by the team that this would be a very gentle but effective way of removing wax. The procedure was absolutely painless and I would recommend to anyone who was considering having it done."
