We accept a wide range of qualifications for admission to study our Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. Please choose from the options below for detailed information regarding equivalent qualifications from your country:

*International students starting their studies at Foundation level will be taught at The College, Swansea University aside from the following programmes:

• Applied Medical Sciences with a Foundation Year
• Medical Pharmacology with a Foundation Year
• Medical Sciences and Population Health with a Foundation Year
• Microbiology and Immunology with a Foundation Year
• Pharmacy with a Preparatory (Foundation) Year

Swansea University offers a range of international scholarships to help the most talented and ambitious students to reach their potential. To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, you must have submitted an application to study at Swansea University as you will need your student number to complete the scholarship form.  

If you wish to be considered for a scholarship, it is advised that you should apply to Swansea University as soon as possible to avoid any possible delays.

We can only exempt IELTS if you meet the following criteria, which can only be confirmed after you make an application to study with us and receive an offer letter.

Undergraduates:

We DO accept CBSE/SSCE for English with a minimum score of 70% in 12^th Standard in lieu of IELTS. Please contact us via our undergraduate enquiry form  if you are unsure, or simply apply through the apply system and we will confirm on the offer letter if we require any further English test.

Postgraduates:

You will need to take an IELTS if there are any further gaps in study, such as working/care leave etc. since you graduated from your Indian university for more than 3.5 years. Further caveats may apply, depending on circumstances.

If you have any doubts, please contact us and we can advise you. Or you can make an application and we will confirm on your offer letter.  Please submit all marks sheets/transcripts/English tests accordingly so we can assess your application fully.

When preparing to study abroad applying for and getting your Visa can be stressful. That is why we have comprehensive visa advice pages, covering information from what type of visa you need, how to apply, bringing family or working during your studies.

You can submit an application form using our Learner Gateway Application Portal. You will be required to send us your transcripts, English language certificates and a personal statement.

We have a carefully selected number of agents representing Swansea University who can support you with your application for study, accommodation and your UK visa.

Please note that offers can take up to 15 days to be processed.

If you are a resident of Haryana or Punjab and holding an offer to study at Swansea University from September 2025, you will be required to verify your own academic qualifications. Information will be provided in your formal offer of admission.  

 You will complete this step by accessing the University’s Qualification Check portal. There is a fee to use this service (usually £30.00 plus institution surcharge). Once the verification is complete, Swansea University will be able to see the outcome of your check and you will automatically receive an ‘I'm Verified wallet’ which digitally stores your qualification verifications. This can be shared with all future employers or any other Universities to which you apply.
