The Law School at Swansea University was ranked in the World Top 150 (QS World Rankings by Subject) for the first time in 2023, and has successfully retained this position in 2024.

One way to measure a law school’s success, and to know where it stands globally, is to refer to the World University Rankings.

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the World's largest global higher education network, has been publishing World University Rankings since 2004, with the current format being the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

To compile these rankings, QS assesses the academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact of all law schools in the world, highlighting the all-round success that this represents for the Law School at Swansea University.

Commenting on the results, Professor Alison Perry, Head of the Law School, said:

“It is a tremendous achievement for the Law School to be recognised globally yet again, and we are delighted to retain our commanding position for the second year running in the first 150 in the world.”

At Swansea, in addition to delivering globally recognised research, we offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that aim to prepare our students to enter a fast-evolving professional environment. This result is a pleasing demonstration that we are succeeding in those ventures. I would take this opportunity to thank my colleagues for their dedication to the Law School at Swansea, to our students, and to law as a discipline.”
