About

Geraint joined Swansea University’s Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law as a Lecturer in Law in December 2023.

Geraint completed his degree studies in Law & History at Swansea University before studying the Legal Practice Course, also at Swansea University.

Prior to Geraint joining the University as a Lecturer in Law, he experienced many years in legal practice within the remits of Civil Litigation, Wills & Lasting Powers of Attorney, Criminal Law and Family Law. During his time in practice, Geraint was appointed as a Head of Department and Junior Director.

Geraint now predominantly teaches postgraduate students, who are seeking a career within legal practice.

Taught Modules

LAPM02 Litigation

Students are trained to act as a Criminal Practitioner from the moment they are instructed by a client in custody to the point at which s/he is tried in the Magistrates¿ Court. Students also consider the advantages and disadvantages of summary trial and trial on indictment. The overriding objective of the Civil Litigation element of the Litigation module is to provide students with the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to work effectively in a civil litigation, dispute management or personal injury department.
LAPM17A Wills and Administration of Estates

The overriding objective of the Wills and Administration of Estates module is to ensure that a student develops an overview of the law and practice relating to Wills, grants of representation and administration of estates and becomes familiar with the relevant documentation. On completion of the module a student will be able to conduct a matter from taking the initial instructions from a client and drafting a will through to the administration of an estate and the preparation of a set of estate accounts.
