Patrick’s research interests include environmental law and cybercrime. While these two subjects may seem disparate and unconnected, various themes of his published work span both disciplines, including regulatory design, regulatory enforcement, deterrence theory, and the role of science and expertise in the development of policy and legal decision making.
Patrick’s teaching interests are equally diverse and include the Law of Tort, Media Law and Cybercrime at undergraduate level and Crime in Cyberspace on the MA in Cybercrime and Terrorism.
Patrick is currently the head of admissions for the undergraduate law programmes at the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law. He is also the Postgraduate Research Coordinator for law and a mentor and internal assessor for Associate Fellowship and Fellowship of Advance HE (formerly Higher Education Authority.
