Starting during the Welcome Week, you will get as much help and support as possible which starts with a welcome event for Welsh language students organised by Academi Hywel Teifi during Welcome Week.

The Centre for Academic Success offers specialist support for students who use Welsh in the course of their academic lives. This provision is tailored towards the Welsh context, with attention given to the particular needs of Welsh medium students, including bilingual practices, relevant technology and software, as well as the skills common to students of all languages – critical thinking, composing arguments, referencing and paraphrasing, and writing and research skills.
The Centre for Academic Success has a lively and varied program of Welsh medium e-learning courses and resources, and face to face courses and workshops. Visit the Centre's pages on the MyUni website for details.
Part of the Branch's work is to make sure that there is enough provision available through the medium of Welsh for students in Swansea, and to maintain the Welsh language community here. Each month, the Branch holds drop-in Surgeries at the Bay Campus and the Singleton Campus. This is an opportunity for students to drop in and talk to the Branch Officer for an informal chat where they can ask questions about the course and general life as a student or raise concerns. It is also an opportunity for students to meet other Welsh students. The drop-in sessions are held during the academic term between 10am-12pm on the first Wednesday of each month at the Singleton campus (Talbot Room 162), and on the first Thursday of each month at the Bay campus (Y Twyni). The Branch office is always open, and students are welcome to drop by Talbot 162 at any time.
