Course Overview

If you are a healthcare professional teaching in an academic or clinical setting and looking to consolidate your skills, this programme is designed for you. You will explore the principles that underpin effective teaching, learning and assessment, and learn how to apply educational theory to real situations across the health professions.

Throughout your studies, you will build confidence in designing and delivering learning experiences, evaluating your practice and making evidence informed decisions about teaching and assessment. You will develop strong critical thinking and reflective skills that help you understand your own approach as an educator and identify areas for ongoing growth.

You will also strengthen your communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work effectively with colleagues and learners to support inclusive and engaging learning environments. As you progress, you will learn how to collaborate across professional and organisational boundaries and how education can influence wider practice, policy and curriculum development in healthcare.

At master’s level, you will have the opportunity to undertake independent research that deepens your understanding of healthcare education and contributes new insight to the field. This experience supports your development as an educational leader and prepares you to drive positive, evidence based change in your workplace.

Across all levels, the programme encourages reflective, lifelong learning. You will graduate with the skills, insight and professional confidence needed to enhance teaching, support learners effectively and help shape the future of healthcare education.
