Our vibrant interdisciplinary research community incorporates a wide breadth of specialisms and draws on the work of colleagues from Politics and International Relations, Media and Communication and Philosophy.  This breadth of expertise has facilitated a focus on interdisciplinary enquiry committed to producing world-leading research, and providing solutions to local, regional and international challenges.

Our Outputs

Since 2014 we have published 13 monographs, over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles and make regular contributions to a wide range of media platforms advising on matters such as Welsh, UK and European politics and elections, policy-related issues as well as providing submissions to parliamentary committees to contribute to legislative inquiry.

Our Impact

Our researchers are building strong partnership platforms to achieve impacts on international and national policy such as globally changing government approaches in drug and crime control policies, leading changes in policy development for rural communities in West Africa resulting in substantial economic, health and educational benefits.  We have also pioneered advancement in understanding the challenges of digital inclusion for sight and hearing impaired groups, achieving changes in broadcaster and charity policies to benefit sensory impaired users of digital media in Wales.
