Meet Richard
Head of Commercial at Swansea City AFC, Richard Morris, is lacing up his trainers to tackle Swansea’s Virtual Half Marathon from Raleigh, North Carolina, in order to raise funds for ‘Making Strides for Mental Health’.
Find out more about why Richard is taking on this challenge.
Why did you want to run Swansea Half Marathon?
The challenge, a focus for my training and a fantastic cause!
What does it mean to you personally?
A sense of achievement and hopefully helping others by raising some money.
Tell us why better mental health is important to you.
When my mental health is in a good place, I’m a better Dad, I’m better at my job, and I feel happy!
Have you run competitively before?
Not really – I use running as time to be enjoyed on my own to get away from my screens.
Tell us about how you’ll be training in the run up to the race.
I’ve done a lot of 5km runs, but nothing longer, so that could prove problematic. I’ll pace myself in the NC heat.
If you would like to donate to Making Strides for Mental Health, you can do so via JustGiving – thank you.
