About

Dr Desireé Cranfield is appointed as a senior Lecturer within the School of Management at Swansea University, and is one of the Deputy Programme Directors for Business Management (UG). Desireé has an innovative approach to her work, and enjoys using technology wherever appropriate and possible, within and outside of the lecture room. She is keen to collaborate and network with others who are passionate about delivering high quality, interactive, and engaging classes, using technology to enhance learning.

Dr Cranfield’s research interests lie within the context of public sector organizations, with a focus on the use of technology within this context to enhance learning and teaching, as well as improve processes and practices. Her research experience is within the field of technology use within education for the purposes of improving student learning experience and success, and more recently in the broad area of Higher Education Management, specifically focusing on the perceptions and practices of knowledge management and knowledge sharing. Desireé is collaborating with collaborators in Hungary, South Africa and Scotland on projects related to mobile security as well as online learning.

Desireé has co-authored several papers within the field of Knowledge Management, as well as in the field of Intellectual Capital and Innovation. She is currently a reviewer for a newly established journal, the GiLE Journal of Skills Development (GJSD), and is a reviewer for the Knowledge Management Journal. She was also invited to edit a special edition of the International Journal of Transitions and Innovation Systems.

Dr Cranfield has more than 17 years of lecturing experience, and more than 7 years of management experience. She has also undertaken several projects, with her role ranging from Graduate School Manager, Project Manager, Business Analyst, to Research Manager.
