Helen is an interdisciplinary scholar who draws on a diverse portfolio of work as a researcher and industry professional. Helen’s research contributions have advanced scholarly debates and applied issues in the field of entrepreneurship. While much of the current entrepreneurial scholarship focuses on entrepreneurship as an economic activity concerned with wealth-creation, Helen’s empirical work challenges these assumptions and identifies diverse ways of experiencing and practising entrepreneurship.

Unique to her research approach is the selection and development of innovative methodological approaches. In particular, Helen is passionate about increasing the profile of creative, visual and material methods. Current research has drawn cross-disciplinary attention and stemmed new collaborative potential, resulting in invitations to lead research seminars and workshops for other researchers and students interested in using material methodologies in their own work.

Drawing on her professional experience as an organisational psychologist, Helen seeks to better understand the meaning of work across a range of contexts and has particular interests in critical approaches to gender, diversity and inclusion at work.
