Edward Miller began his professional journey developing a state-of-the-art aquaculture facility, focusing on connectivity and data synthesis to drive production and research gains. The lessons learned in optimising these processes were later applied to his work within the healthcare sector. As an emerging academic and researcher with a strong foundation in Business Management and innovation, Edward’s experience spans multiple industries, including aquaculture and healthcare. Currently pursuing a PhD in Business Management at Swansea University, his research explores the intersection of the defence and healthcare industries, with a focus on knowledge and technology transfer.
At Swansea University's Healthcare Technology Centre, Edward has advised SMEs on healthcare innovation, guiding them through business strategies and regulatory frameworks to bring cutting-edge technologies to market. In addition to his research, Edward plays a key role in teaching and curriculum development, employing Agile methodologies to create adaptable, student-centred learning environments.
Edward’s career highlights include the implementation of novel disease detection methods, contributions to grant-winning alternative protein research in aquaculture, and leading innovative projects within healthcare. He was also part of a delegation that worked with and visited Malaysian government departments to help prepare Malaysian businesses for franchising into the UK. His multidisciplinary approach positions him as a forward-thinker and to look through many lenses, dedicated to fostering impactful innovation across sectors.
