This module aims enable learners to: ¿ Understand a range of leadership styles and the impact on team performance ¿ Understand themselves as a leader and the importance of personal awareness ¿ Develop the ability to lead, motivate and inspire others to achieve results ¿ Establish reflective practice to consolidate and embed learning The Understanding Leadership programme will focus on the essential skills required for new leaders in small, medium and large established organisations. The programme will enhance participants¿ knowledge and skills around providing strong direction and motivating their team to achieve objectives. It encourages effective management to develop trust and empower the team. The Developing Leadership programme will introduce participants to High Performance Work Practices (HPWP¿s), placing particular emphasis on leading self and leading others, enabling them to develop and implement sustainable plans that further drive the performance of their teams.
This module will explore the key concepts of product design and service solutions as applied to the creation, development and continuous improvement. Learners will study how to design and develop the innovation management system for a business or organisation and how to engage colleagues in the workplace. They will learn about the key principles for creating a culture for innovation and creativity in their professional life and in their organisations. Areas of consideration will include but are not limited to: What is the innovation / change opportunity; What is the Product / Service going to provide to the user; IP Consideration; Commercial attraction; Market focus; The approach; Limitations and Risk; Outcomes and Recommendations. Learners will study how to design and develop the innovation management system for a business or organisation. Learners will study how to lead innovation within an organisation and begin to develop a 'learning organisation' that embeds innovation as an integral aspect of an organisations culture. This module examines the integration of principles the 'learning organisation' with organisational strategy, the key internal and external forces that determine the development of the organisations dynamic capabilities. This module will develop professional learners¿ ability to understand and create innovation management processes and practices in their workplace with a particular focus on `circular economy¿ challenges. The module will introduce learners to the `Design Thinking Approach¿, which will subsequently be used as the overarching framework to solve the circular economy challenges that participants will bring to the programme. The module aims to use a range `experiential learning¿ events to encourage learners to engage with theoretical constructs and personal reflection in order to inform their practice.
