About

Sam is a senior lecturer in Business Analytics. This looks at a variety of research methods across disciplines and how they can be utilised by managers to help understand and therefore improve the performance of the companies they manage.

Sam is Programme Director for MSc Management (and pathways) for both September and January entry students having previously held the role of Deputy Programme Director for MSc Management (and pathways). Prior to holding these roles Sam was the library liaison and was also an Academic Integrity Officer and dealt with issues of academic misconduct such as plagiarism, commissioning and collusion. She also oversees the co-ordination of independent learning MSc modules: MSc Dissertation and MSc Business Projects.

Prior to working at Swansea University, Sam completed a BSc in Psychology, followed by an MA in Business with Consumer Psychology. She then progressed onto a PhD in Marketing (Forecasting) looking at Forecasting Pharmaceutical Life Cycles.

She has an interest in quantitative methods specifically regression and forecasting. She is working on pedagogical research such as looking at team teaching and attendance.

Teaching Interests

Over the years Sam has taught on a number of modules including Marketing Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Entrepreneurship and Data Mining at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Sam’s current teaching includes Business Analytics (at undergraduate and postgraduate level) and Research Methods and Business Projects both at postgraduate level.
