Sebastian Kitching is a Senior Lecturer, teaching in the areas of Operations and Supply Chain Management, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Industry experience includes projects involving the implementation and on-going evaluation of automated inventory management systems in the retail sector. He also spent a number of years working in Japan, developing an interest in the area of service operations.
Current research interests include an investigation behind the contributing factors to food waste generation in the convenience store sector using System Dynamics modelling. He is also active in making use of simulation software to enhance the student learning experience; integrating operations processes through modelling, to promote better understanding of complex systems.
