Course Details
The module is designed to provide an introduction to public health and community nursing. Students will develop an awareness of local, national, and global public health policies and gain awareness of the wider determinants of health that lead to health inequalities. Assessment of public health will be explored using epidemiological approaches. Throughout the module, students will develop enhanced communication skills enabling them to support and empower people to connect to local health and well-being initiatives and community assets. Students will be supported to develop the skills to design and evaluate public health initiatives in collaboration with various disciplines, including multi agencies and the third sector with the aim to improve sustainable healthy communities for the future.
