Mariya joined Swansea University as a lecturer in December 2021. She holds a PhD in Business and Management from the University of East Anglia. Her thesis explored the role of culture and cultural dissonance in the process of emotion regulation in workplace.
Her primary research interests are within the area of cross-cultural psychology, particularly emotion regulation across cultures. She is also interested in the experience of dehumanisation in the workplace.
She is an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy and Associate member of Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD).
